AHmed M. Hassanen |
DPhil Student in Quantum Optics, Dept. of Engineering Science, University of Oxford.
I'm a driven British/Egyptian applied physics researcher with 4+ years of research experience, currently working at the interface between condensed matter physics and photonics. I am currently a DPhil student and researcher at the Department of Engineering Science at The University of Oxford. I am affiliated with the Quantum Engineering Lab, where I am working on the engineering of quantum interface for solid-state spin-photon interfaces under the supervision of Dr. Dorian Gangloff.
I am passionate about scientific research and pushing the boundaries of human knowledge in my field. I am particularly interested in nanophotonics/optics, quantum technology and information, nanotechnology, and condensed matter physics. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the realization of viable quantum hardware platforms ushering in the advent of quantum optical networks and computation.
Research Interests: quantum nanoscience and engineering, quantum information, quantum photonics, nanophotonics, quantum emitters/defects, epitaxial materials.
